Your receipts stay with you.

Receipt analysis happens on your device. Haul Math does not upload your receipt history to its servers, sell it, or use it for ads. Exports, sharing, and device backups follow your choices and system settings. We do not operate a customer receipt cloud. Website measurement and ordinary hosting requests are separate and explained below; this is not a claim that no connection or usage data is ever processed.

Public website and app feeds

The public website provides Haul Math marketing, shopping guides, support, privacy, and terms pages. It does not offer a browsable deal catalog, require an account, or accept receipt uploads. Cloudflare provides edge hosting, security, aggregate request measurement, and privacy-first page-performance analytics. On the marketing home page and published shopping guides only, Google Analytics measures visits, sanitized campaign codes, broad device and referral information, and App Store and Google Play download-button clicks. It is configured without Google Signals, advertising personalization, User-ID, user-provided data, or Meta and TikTok pixels. It does not load on the receipt handoff or Safari import routes, and it is not joined to app or receipt data. Google Analytics event data is retained for up to 14 months; its first-party measurement cookie expires after 90 days without renewal. Haul Math does not load Google Analytics when the browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. The app downloads a shared U.S. offer feed and feature configuration; those requests use ordinary connection information such as IP address, device connection details, and request time, but do not attach receipt history, saved products, searches, membership data, or a Haul Math account.

Mobile apps

Receipt imports, saved products, exact-item matching, price history, and personalization are stored and processed on the device. Photo receipt scanning is not exposed in this release. User-selected Haul Math backup files are processed on the device and are not uploaded to Haul Math servers.

Safari receipt importer

The bundled extension reads Costco receipt pages only after you grant access to costco.com and start an import. It can request receipt details using your signed-in Costco browser session; your Costco password stays with Costco. Costco sign-in remains in Safari. Captured receipt data moves to Haul Math through the private App Group container on the same device—not through our website.

Android receipt import and backup

The Costco connection is optional; file import works without it. Costco's website may collect account, device and browser identifiers, connection information, and website activity. Its privacy policy describes cookies, pixels, analytics, personalization and advertising-provider disclosures. These website practices are separate from Haul Math's local receipt analysis. Manage website choices through Costco's Cookie Settings and Your Privacy Choices. Clearing the browser session does not erase information already held by Costco or its providers; their retention and deletion rules apply.

You can also connect your receipts through an in-app browser that opens Costco's website. You sign in directly with Costco; Costco and its website providers process that sign-in, connection information, and website activity under Costco's privacy policy. Haul Math does not read password fields or send your Costco credentials or browser cookies to Haul Math servers. This browser keeps its own Costco cookies and site storage on your phone, separate from Chrome. Use Clear sign-in in the receipt browser to remove that browser session without deleting imported receipts. Haul Math opts out of Android WebView usage statistics. If you have allowed sharing diagnostics with Google, WebView may still send crash reports, including system information, sanitized stack traces, and a per-app pseudonymous token, under Google's WebView reporting controls.

When you tap Sync receipts, Haul Math reads your signed-in Costco receipt history and saves parsed receipt details and available original receipt barcode images locally. It may revisit older receipt details to repair incomplete captures; a local copy of the previous archive is kept before a repair. Receipt barcodes are copied from Costco, not generated by Haul Math, and Costco determines return eligibility. Browser cookies, site storage, barcode images, and repair copies are excluded from Android cloud backup, device transfer, and Haul Math portable backups. They are removed when you clear app data or uninstall Haul Math. Imported receipt details are not sent to Haul Math servers.

On Android, you choose a PDF, text receipt, shared receipt text, or Haul Math backup for local processing. Haul Math does not ask for a Costco password. When you choose a receipt PDF, Haul Math can retain those exact PDF bytes in app-private storage so you can reopen or explicitly share the file later. Original receipt PDFs are excluded from Android cloud backup, device transfer, and Haul Math portable backups; they leave the app only when you explicitly share them and are deleted when you delete the app's data or uninstall the app. If Android backup or device transfer is enabled in your system settings, Android may copy the parsed receipt archive and preferences through your Google-managed backup; that copy is controlled by your Google account and device settings, not by a Haul Math receipt server.

What we do not sell or track

  • Haul Math does not operate advertising tracking. Costco's optional embedded website has its own tracking practices, described above.
  • No sale of receipt history, saved products, searches, or purchase patterns.
  • No Haul Math customer account required.
  • No private receipt exports in public data feeds.

Platform purchases and store reports

Apple processes iPhone purchases and Google Play processes Android purchases, including payment details, renewals, cancellations, and refunds. Haul Math does not receive your complete card number. The app reads platform-signed purchase status to unlock Plus. Apple and Google may provide Sun Ryse Software LLC with store sales, conversion, usage, retention, crash, and performance reports under their privacy controls and reporting thresholds.

On-device diagnostics and notifications

The iPhone app uses Apple MetricKit. Both apps keep on-device aggregate counts for a fixed set of actions, such as onboarding, screen visits, receipt-import, feedback, and subscription-flow completion. Those counts are not sent to Haul Math servers and do not contain receipt text, products, item numbers, prices, searches, warehouses, advertising identifiers, or account identifiers. Haul Math does not include a third-party advertising or product-tracking SDK. If you allow notifications, matched-offer reminders are prepared locally from the offer feed and your on-device data.

Optional app-flow reporting

Optional diagnostics send app steps, timing ranges and error categories—not names, emails or receipt data. We do not collect your name, email address, Costco login, receipt contents or purchased products through diagnostics. Platform, app version and a temporary random identifier for each attempt help us understand where a flow stops; they are not a customer account or permanent device identifier. Ordinary connection information handled by our hosting provider is explained below.

Where enabled, you can choose to help improve onboarding and receipt syncing by sharing a limited set of operational events with Haul Math's first-party service. This choice is off by default and is separate from receipt import, notifications, and payment. Events describe fixed steps and outcomes, such as import opened, receipt history ready, sync completed or interrupted, and purchase-flow completion, together with platform, app version, an elapsed-time bucket, a short-lived random journey identifier and event sequence. They do not include receipt text, photos, item names or numbers, prices, shopping history, matches, searches, Costco account details, passwords, cookies, page URLs, or screen recordings. They do not identify an individual downloader or establish that an interrupted flow crashed.

In configured iPhone versions starting with 1.2, turn Share app diagnostics on or off in onboarding or Haul Math Settings. This reporting is off by default. The iPhone app and its Safari extension share this choice and a bounded local event queue; the extension may send fixed sync steps while the app is not in front. Events and their random per-attempt identifiers are queued locally for up to 24 hours. They cannot connect your separate onboarding, sync and purchase attempts or identify you across devices. Operational reports include only the last seven days; older events are removed from the active database by scheduled hourly cleanup, which may run later if the service is interrupted. Hosting-provider recovery copies can retain deleted data separately until their recovery window expires. Only aggregate operational reports are available through the protected reporting interface. Turning this setting off clears unsent events and stops future reports; it does not erase events already received, which follow this retention process. Network delivery also exposes ordinary connection information to Cloudflare, our hosting provider; application request logs, IP storage and screen recording are disabled. The app works without this optional reporting. Earlier versions and versions without a configured reporting endpoint do not send these events.

Device-assistant shortcuts

Haul Math's navigation shortcuts can open app screens through supported device-assistant and system-shortcut features. These shortcuts do not return receipt contents, shopping history, or account credentials to an assistant, and do not authorize purchases or delete data. Import shortcuts open setup; you still control Costco sign-in and syncing. Your device assistant processes voice requests under its own settings and privacy policy. Assistant availability varies by platform and device.

Feedback you choose to send

When you tap Send feedback, Haul Math opens an editable email draft addressed to Sun Ryse Software LLC. The draft includes the current app screen, Haul Math version and build, operating-system version, and general device model so support can reproduce the issue. It does not attach receipts, products, item numbers, prices, searches, warehouse history, account identifiers, or passwords. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send the email. If you send it, support receives your email address and the message you provide and may retain them as needed to investigate and respond.

Artwork and external services

Product images from Costco’s public offers are cached and served by Haul Math through Cloudflare. Image requests do not contact Costco directly. Cloudflare receives ordinary connection information, including your IP address; receipt contents are not sent with image requests. Images are matched to the source offer and may show one variant. When an image is unavailable, the card stays text-first and links to Costco. Product images belong to their respective owners. Attribution does not assert permission or endorsement. Haul Math is not affiliated with Costco Wholesale Corporation.

Retention and deletion

Local receipt history remains until you clear imports or delete Haul Math. Android original receipt PDFs remain in app-private storage until app data is deleted or the app is uninstalled; they are not included in Haul Math portable backups or Android cloud backup and device transfer. Saved products can be removed from Saved. Safari access can be withdrawn in iOS Settings; notification and Android backup permissions can be changed in the applicable device settings. Explicitly exported, shared, or platform-managed backup copies remain wherever you or the platform placed them. Canceling Plus does not delete your local receipt archive.
